How does it work?
- Have a look at the examples on this site and get an idea of what you want.
- Source your original images - photos for me to work from and any 'inspiration' images. If you want me to copy a photograph you MUST get permission from the photographer yourself before getting in touch. Similarly, if you want me to copy elements from an internet image you must provide evidence that the original creator has licensed the work for use/adaptation by others. Use http://search.creativecommons.org/ or Google's advanced image search. However I can use any old image for inspiration, just send me the links.
- Get in touch with me and we'll discuss your needs and the cost. Tell me: what you want; what it's going to be used for; what googling you've done so far re inspiration and products. There's an email link at the top right of all these pages.
How do I charge?
Simple. It's £20 per hour which includes all the consumable materials/software licences/hardware etc. I will give you a time estimate for your commission before I start. With digital art you can request changes when I send you a draft. Or, if you have a fixed budget I can give you a sense of what's realistic within that time and then do the best job I can within that time. Obviously, if I'm going round print shops and post offices to get the product to you, that time is also chargeable.
Extra costs on top might include:
Extra costs on top might include:
- postage and packing
- the cost of producing a fancy printed copy from a digital work (you are welcome to google yourself for the best price for whatever it is you want and tell me which online printer you want me to use) = £varies
- digital images for personal/group re-use (make all the prints you like but don't post the image publicly, you can't sell anything with the image on it) = £30
- digital images for commercial re-use (you can sell your own products using my image) = £negotiable. (Makers producing Empire maps, please read PD's Fair Use Policy - basically, anything that's on the Empire wiki you can have for free as long as you're not making 'extra' profit off of my work).
